ABC fiction award shortlist

Six novels have been shortlisted for the 2008 ABC Fiction Award.

Six novels have been shortlisted for the 2008 ABC Fiction Award.

The six shortlisted authors come from three states: three from Victoria, two from New South Wales and one from South Australia.
They are:

  • Honey Brown (Victoria) Red Queen.
  • Enza Gandolfo (Victoria) Swimming
  • Lyndel Caffrey (Victoria) Homing
  • Laura Buzo (NSW) Good Oil
  • Oskar Lupa (NSW) Adelina's Garden
  • Kain Massin (SA) God for the Killing

The judges for the 2008 Fiction Award are 774 ABC Melbourne ‘drive' presenter Lindy Burns; author Luke Davies; Murray Waldren, former literary editor of The Australian; and ABC Books commissioning editor Jo Mackay.

The ABC Fiction Award is held annually by ABC Books, with the support of ABC Local Radio and ABC Television. The winner, who will be announced on Tuesday 1 April in Sydney, will win a $10,000 advance and be published by ABC Books.
