Geraldine Brooks and J M Coetzee are among the authors on the list of ‘good reads' voted on by the members of the US-based National Book Critics Circle (NBCC).
The NBCC asked its 800 members to recommend the books published in 2007 that they ‘truly loved' and would recommend to others.
Coetzee's Diary of a Bad Year (Text) came in at number three on the fiction list, with Brooks' People of the Book (HarperCollins) at number four.
