Catherine O'Flynn, whose novel What Was Lost (Scribe, February) recently won the UK's Costa First Novel Award, will be among the guests at this year's Perth Writers' Festival, which runs from 22 to 24 February as part of the Perth International Arts Festival.
Also attending from overseas will be Naomi Woolf, travel writer Colin Thubron, Shashi Tharoor, Tan Twan Eng, former Atlantic Monthly managing editor Cullen Murphy, Dan Kennedy, economist Tim Harford, Peter Godwin, Maureen Freely, Nathan Englander, Louise Doughty and food writer Clotilde Dusoulier.
Food will be a strong theme of the festival with local foodies Greg and Lucy Malouf, Stephen Downes and Pauline Nguyen also attending.
Miles Franklin winner Alexis Wright will be among the impressive list of local authors which includes Michael Gawenda, Gideon Haigh, Paul Ham, Christopher Koch, Shane Maloney, Maureen McCarthy, Alex Miller and Shaun Tan, among many others.
