Even though Geraldine Brooks has spent most of her working life overseas and is now living offshore as well, booklovers, booksellers and critics still make it very clear that Brooks is one of our own. Ever since she turned her hand to fiction, Brooks' literary releases have been eagerly awaited - and this time is no different. As yet, People of the Book has been a resident on bookstore shelves for a month - just how often booksellers need to replenish their stocks is yet to be seen but the book seems to have been well received since its release.
